The bilingual English/Spanish track has a worldbeat, hip hop, and reggaeton vibe with lyrics that are evidence-based and filled with optimistic messaging. The Original Human Beat Box, and our founding artist, Doug E. Fresh, is on the mic and joined by our founder, Dr. Olajide “Hip Hop Doc” Williams, and Advisory Board member, Dr. Monique “Docta Mo Flow” Hedmann-Maxey, along with youth artist Heaven. Paste Time was composed and produced by multi platinum producer, Q. Worthy, with co-writer BJ Gray, and has two accompanying music videos: one featuring young people who were honored at the 2022 Bright Smiles Kids Awards, and one behind the scenes music video with all of the artists.

Oral health is critical to overall health and wellbeing, and yet it can be fundamentally neglected by people, governments, and health care professionals. The costs of poor oral health are felt most acutely by those living in communities that are marginalized, impacting their health and livelihood. When it comes to young people, cavities can also have a significant impact on their social, mental, and emotional wellbeing. In fact, according to research conducted across 12 countries, one-third of children feel worried and embarrassed when they experience a cavity, leading to lower self-esteem and confidence.

The free, online Paste Time Educator Toolkit was developed by health and education experts to teach elementary-age students about the importance of oral health. It includes a lesson plan, classroom slides, fun activities, family take-homes, teaching guidance, and optional lesson extension activities. The curricular resources are aligned with National Health Education Standards, National Physical Education Standards, and Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) core competencies.
