Vanessa Sawyer, MS, RD- Senior Project Officer, Hip Hop H.E.A.L.S./Hip Hop F.E.E.T.

Vanessa obtained her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science from Cornell University. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT and received a Masters in Nutritional Science from the University of Connecticut. She has been committed to public health nutrition for over a decade, focusing on health disparities in low-income urban communities, specifically among women and children. Currently, she coordinates Hip Hop H.E.A.L.S., F.E.E.T. and POP and is the Center Dietitian for Hip Hop Public Health, working closely with the artists to create multi-media health literacy education programs and tools to promote good nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices among children, teens and their caregivers.
