On April 19, 2013, Dr. Williams joined the TEDMED Day roster at Columbia University Medical Center where he delivered a talk titled “Can 5th Graders Teach Their Parents About Stroke?” Dr. Williams presented some of the research findings out of the Hip Hop Stroke program and taught the audience some critical information about stroke that could save their lives and the lives of their loved ones. He ended his session by surprising the audience with a transformation from clinical neurologist to the “Hip Hop MD”, when he rapped about the signs and symptoms of stroke.
